Volunteers are certainly welcome. Unfortunately, for their own safety, volunteers must be at least 14 years old and be up to date with their tetanus vaccine. Also, before the volunteers will be allowed to work directly with the large animals, they must go through a three-hour orientation and then receive the approval of the Sanctuary President, Lisa.
Work at the Sanctuary qualifies as community service for those who desire recognition of such. Volunteers generally provide support to the sanctuary by cleaning and organizing the barn, the yard, and once approved, the animals' living spaces. Feeding and grooming requires approval from the Sanctuary President, Lisa.
Please fill out the volunteer application (link below) or call Lisa at (860) 625-7215 to ask about volunteering.
